Happy New Year!

Happy New Year From the Library!

The Henderson Free Library would like to wish everyone and their families a very Happy New Year! 2022 is only a few days a way! Stop in and write a New Year’s resolution on a snowflake to be displayed in the library! Just a reminder that the Henderson Free Library will be CLOSED on January 1st, 2022 in observance of the holiday.

New Winter Hours

Beginning January 4th, 2022, the Henderson Free Library will move to winter hours. The updated hours will be:

Story Time Returns January 8th!

The Story Time program will return after the holidays on Saturday, January 8th at 10 a.m.! Pre-k children will have the opportunity to hear a read-aloud story from Library Assistant Bri, create a themed craft based on the story, and enjoy a snack! Happy Holidays!

Holiday Closings

Mark your calendars! The Henderson Free Library will be CLOSED on Friday December 24th and Saturday December 25th to observe Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The library will still be open Tuesday through Thursday next week with our regular hours.

Craft Night!

Feeling creative? Henderson Free Library will be holding its first craft night of the winter season on Tuesday, December 28th from 4pm-7pm! Patrons will have the opportunity to design and create their very own winter wonderland shadow box! All materials will be provided by the Henderson Free Library!

Poke A Tree

Poke a Tree is here! Help us celebrate the holidays with this children’s program! Children will have the opportunity to “Poke A Tree” during the rest of the month of December! This program will be available during open hours and is free!

Book Club in a Bag!

There are still copies left of “The Girls Of Atomic City” By Denise Kiernan for anyone still interested in participating in the Book Club in a Bag event! The book’s discussion will take place at the Henderson Free Library on Tuesday, December 21st from 4pm-6pm.

The Henderson Free Library will be CLOSED on Friday, December 24th, Saturday, December 25th, and Saturday, January 1st in observance of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. New Titles Are Here!

At Henderson Free Library, New books and materials arrive almost every week. Stop in during open hours to check out what’s new or browse on our “What’s New” Page. We have new titles in every category and genre: Adult Fiction, Nonfiction, Mystery, Thriller, Historical Fiction, Juvenile and Children’s Fiction, Adult and Juvenile DVD’s, and an ever expanding Large Print section! Below is just a few examples of what Henderson Library has for New Titles. “New” titles can be checked out for a 14 day loan period and can be renewed up to two times!

Holiday Card Sale

A local watercolor artist is being featured right here at Henderson Free Library! Watercolor holiday cards are now available for sale in the library from now until supplies last! Holiday cards are $3 each or 4 for $10 with a variety of designs to choose from!

Book Club In A Bag Is Here

Looking for a book club, but don’t know where to start? Then Book Club in a Bag is for you! This month, the Book Club In a Bag program is reading The Girls of Atomic City: The Untold Story of The Women Who Helped Win World War 2 By Denise Kiernan. The book follows a group of women who move to Oakridge, Tennessee to work on the development of the atomic bomb during World War 2. Copies of the book are still available to pick up during open hours and the Book Club discussion will be held December 21st at 4pm in the Henderson Free Library.

Winter Themed Puzzles

Winter Themed puzzles are officially out for patron use! Come in during open hours, grab a cup of coffee and a friend and complete one of many of our holiday and/or winter themed puzzles! The puzzle board provides an easy way of completing our 1000 pieces puzzles without having to worry about running out of room at our table!
